Your Kiss

I seek your kiss.
Lips that tell
me you are
not a dream.
I no longer
have to run
to my pillow
praying when
I close my eyes
you will appear.

I feel your breath
upon my cheek,
the warmth of
your skin,
my body speaking
 a vocabulary
I didn’t know I possessed.

Your voice touches
the strings of my heart
playing a love song
that will not end
when the sun
stirs me from my sleep.

I touch your skin
knowing you are real.
Today I embrace the morning.
I can dream with my eyes open.
