Jealous Clouds

clouds
soaked in
coffee stains
jealously chase
the moon through August
nights hoping Van Gogh’s ghost
will take brush to canvas to
paint their image with romantic
strokes rivaling moonlight’s hypnotic
spell on poets seeking inspiration.

Great capture of a mood here, Susie. I love the Van Gogh reference, and the soft tie-in with inspiration. When every other well runs dry, there is always that night sky, and the moon with her mysteries. She is both beautiful and mysterious here. Thanks so much for participating.

I feel that coffee and poets seeking inspiration are often in a partnership. And here the moon seems to be a musing maiden toying with both. Delightful.

You have looked at this image with an artist's (and poet's) eye. I love all the details you have found, and the way you expressed them - I too love the coffee stains.
