Sunshine Stained

Canola field in Luoping cc wiki by Fanghong

I swim through
yellow petal dreams
wondering if winter frost
will freeze my thoughts
to clouds stoning the horizon.

My sunshine stained hands
cut through waves of uncertainty
as my lungs struggle to expel doubt
after each breath of prayer.

Peace sits on the shore
waiting, trusting I will
not drown in the brine
of my questions.

The sky turns a deeper blue.

These are such beautiful lines! Indeed, it is our faith that allows us to expel doubt from our heart through the power of prayer. Beautifully executed :D

Lots of love,

I tried to pick one line, one stanza but they were all beautiful to me.

The imagery is too beautiful for words, though not your words of course :) The first three lines, I re-read thrice. I loved them the most.

The contrast between the yellow bloom and the blue sky is something quite special.. Maybe a sight to carry us through winter.

I like the idea of expelling doubt after each breath of prayer. A beautiful closing line.

Dear Susie--if hands can be stained by anything, sun is a top choice--may your prayers give you more of the strength you already have in such abundance. Thanks. k.
